01Who we are

V and N Direct ("V and N Direct," "we," "us," or "our") is the dedicated computer repair shop and hardware reseller of Focus Network Services, a New York business that has been engineering business networks and providing computer repair and hardware sales since 2003. Our service area is Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester counties in the Hudson Valley, with mail-in service available outside that area.

02What we collect

We collect only what we need to schedule pickups, repair your equipment, sell and configure new hardware, and bill you for the work. Specifically:

• Information you submit through our contact form: your name, business name, phone number or email address, pickup address, and a description of the issue or service needed.
• Information you give us during service: pickup and delivery addresses, contact details for the person we should reach about the work, and details needed to complete the repair (for example, login credentials you choose to share so we can test the machine, or asset-tag information).
• Payment information processed by our payment processor when you pay an invoice. We do not store credit-card numbers or full bank-account numbers on our systems. Card data is handled directly by the processor.
• Basic technical information your browser sends when visiting this site, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. The site loads typeface files from Google Fonts (which causes Google to receive your IP address as part of normal web-font loading) and submits contact-form entries to HubSpot, our customer-relationship and form-handling platform.

The site does not run advertising trackers, analytics pixels, retargeting cookies, or third-party advertising networks at the time this policy was last updated.

03How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

• Schedule and perform pickups, diagnoses, repairs, and returns;
• Quote, configure, and deliver new hardware;
• Send written estimates, status updates, and invoices;
• Process payments through our payment processor;
• Maintain records required by tax, accounting, and warranty obligations;
• Respond to your questions and provide ongoing service.

04Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to deliver service, run the business, or comply with the law:

• HubSpot, our customer-relationship and form-handling platform, receives information you submit through our contact form so we can route and respond to it.
• Our payment processor receives the payment information you provide when paying an invoice.
• Shipping carriers (such as UPS or FedEx) receive the address, contact name, and phone number needed to pick up or deliver hardware.
• Manufacturers and authorized distributors receive the information needed to register hardware, place warranty claims, and order parts on your behalf.
• Our parent organization, Focus Network Services, has access to the same records as part of operating the business.
• Government, regulatory, or law-enforcement entities may receive information when required by law (such as a subpoena), or when needed to protect our rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

05Data retention

We keep customer records as long as needed to deliver and stand behind our service, and to satisfy tax, accounting, warranty, and legal recordkeeping requirements. In general, that means seven (7) years for billing and customer records, in line with standard business and tax retention practice in New York. Diagnostic notes, parts records, and warranty correspondence are kept for the life of the customer relationship plus the same retention period.

06Your choices

You can:

• Ask what information we have about you;
• Ask us to correct information that's wrong;
• Ask us to delete records that are no longer required for tax, accounting, warranty, or legal purposes.

07Cookies and tracking

This website uses minimal cookies. The site itself does not set marketing or advertising cookies at the time of last update. Third-party services we load (Google Fonts and HubSpot's form handler) may set their own cookies or receive standard request data, including your IP address, when their resources load on the page. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some site features (such as the contact form) may not work properly if you block all third-party requests.

08Children

Our service is intended for businesses and adult consumers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, contact us at the number above and we will delete it.

09Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect customer information, including limiting who can access it inside our business and relying on established third-party providers (HubSpot, our payment processor) for the data they're better positioned to handle. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of our service after the policy is updated constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
